Bio

‘Ruth Ricks: The Tales of a Mixed Girl in Orange County’, a chronicle of Ruth’s adventures as an OC native and an actress in Los Angeles, is an ever evolving project.

Ruth came to the realization that the theatre was her life during her stint as a college student in Long Beach, CA. Between classes in Non-verbal Communication and Recreational Studies, she had some of her favorite theatre experiences. She performed as a part of the CSULB University Players in ‘For Colored Girls…’ and ‘The Colored Museum’. During those lean theatre years she also starred in ‘Dark of the Moon’, ‘The Crucible’ and ‘Marisol’.

Since graduating from the life of a starving theatre actor and setting her sights on performing in front of the camera, Ruth has completed multiple film roles. The most notable of these films being ‘Triple Minority’.  This film has screened across the United States and Europe and has been recognized numerous times as an audience favorite. It has also aired on MTV’s Logo Network as a part of their ‘Best in Short Film Series: Season 2′ and BETJ’s ‘Best Shorts’ Series.

Ruth is currently auditioning, working and developing scripts.
